PAT FARRIS

Marshal Pat Farris is a life long resident of Hammond, Louisiana and is married to the former Tracy Dahmer of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Pat is a 1986 graduate of Hammond High School and a 1995 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University receiving a BA in Government.

Marshal Farris served 4 years in the United States Navy where he was deployed twice to Southeast Asia in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He then served 4 additional years in the Louisiana Army National Guard serving in both the 39th and 239th Military Police Companies. He is a member of the American Legion Post #5 and was awarded Louisiana's Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the American Legion Department of Louisiana.

Marshal Farris is an 23-year law enforcement veteran, serving at the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office as a patrol officer, special response team member, detective and then field operations supervisor over the Narcotics Division. He also served as Sheriff Daniel Edwards Government and Community Relations Liaison and Assistant Director of the Sexual Offender program for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office.

Marshal Farris served as the Chief Deputy Marshal with the 2nd Ward Marshal’s office in Livingston Parish. He also held the position of Assistant Chief of Police in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Marshal Farris is a strong supporter of work with the elder and veteran communities. He has served on various boards and local committees including the Tangipahoa United Way Board of Directors and the Lallie Kemp Foundation Board of Directors, and has served for the last 14 years on the Tangipahoa Parish SALT/TRIAD Board of Directors, currently serving as its Vice President. He previously served on the Leadership Tangipahoa Board of Directors, the Tangipahoa Prescription Drug Task Force and Tangi Cares Board of Directors. He is a past member of the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police and the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association and is currently a member of the Louisiana Marshal’s Association.
